Love Island will make its long-awaited return to TV screens on Monday, June 3, when the popular show returns for a new series.
Since first airing in 2015, Love Island has become a hit with viewers year after year.
From playing professional rugby to working as a bricklayer, not all former contestants choose to stay in the world of limelight, glitz and glamour.
Ahead of the new season, here’s a look back at some of the forgotten contestants who appeared on Love Island and what they’re up to now.
Liam Reardon
After winning Love Island 2021 with his now ex Millie Court, Liam has confirmed he will return to his old job as a bricklayer – with a focus on building a property empire.
Liam said: “I liked being a bricklayer before I won Love Island so I want to go into the property business. I’ll start in Wales as house prices are much cheaper there.
“Besides, this is an area where I have all my colleagues in the same field.
Malin Andersson
Before appearing in the second series of Love Island, Malin Andersson was a trained elderly and palliative carer.
Following her stint on the show in 2016, she returned to her old job following the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, citing a desire to give back: “I can’t sit at home alone anymore because I know I have training in this sector. .
“If I can give something more than what I’m doing – then I’m satisfied,” she added.
Greg O’Shea
After winning with his then-girlfriend Amber Gill in 2019, Greg decided to return to his profession as a professional rugby player.
The former Love Island contestant would go on to continue his success on the pitch and represent Ireland’s rugby sevens team at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.
Greg also launched his own online fitness brand called BETTR With Greg, which offers customized exercise and wellness training for anyone looking to stay in shape with the help of a personal trainer.
Georgia Townend
After less than 24 hours of her time on Love Island, Georgia Townend has discovered the grass is greener elsewhere.
After leaving the show, Georgia revealed that she had returned to her day job at Lidl headquarters.
After she was axed from the show, she posted a picture of herself at work and joked: ‘Yes, I work for Lidl and yes, that’s probably a contributing factor to why my time in the villa was so short.
“My whole career it was instilled in me that checkouts can be as fast as possible.
Georgia has also built a strong following on Instagram, with 120,000 Instagram followers following her life as an influencer outside of Lidl.
Anna Vakiliová
After ending her career in medicine to appear on Love Island in 2019, Anna Vakili returned to her career as a pharmacist after the pandemic.
Explaining her decision on Instagram at the time, she said: “The first day I worked as a pharmacist since she left Love Island. It’s been almost a whole year already! Wow, I can’t believe how fast it went by.’
“I hadn’t really planned on signing up yet, but with everything going on, it felt wrong not to. We can all fight this together. Stay safe. Stay at home. To save lives.’
Once life returned to a more familiar pattern, Anna was successful as an influencer and ambassador for Este Medical Group.
She currently has 1.2 million followers on Instagram, is a Fashion Nova brand ambassador and hosts the Sisters In The City podcast.
