13 amazing details we saw in the Legend of Zelda’s Great Deku Tree LEGO set

Details in the LEGO Zelda Deku Tree set

Shalaka lala! Yes, Korok’s favorite Hestu, expanding everyone’s inventory, is on the BOTW side of the set. He looks exactly as you’d expect, but we’re pleased to see that his maracas have come through.

Corox

It wouldn’t be a BOTW-inspired build without a few Koroks, and we got to see three of them in various Lego forms. They seem to range in size from small to… not so small and each has a unique leaf mask to go with it. We’re sure there will be a few more – and that people will have fun building their own Tears of the Kingdom Korok torture devices out of Lego bricks.

‘Riddles of Hyrule’

Speaking of Koroks, remember the ‘Riddles of Hyrule’ side quest in BOTW? The one that required you to repeatedly get items for Walton, the curious Korok at the top of the Deku Tree? Look closely at the top of this set and you’ll see him there. He even has an answer for that “Small, Red, Round, Sweet” puzzle with it (spoiler: it’s an apple).

Shining Master Sword

We weren’t surprised to see the Master Sword appear here, but we were impressed to see that the blade is an almost translucent blue, similar to its glowing appearance in various places in Breath of the Wild. A glowing power is usually a sign that you’re close to a dungeon or a guardian, neither of which appear in Lego form… still… Looking forward to building the Water Temple out of Lego.

A sword in the stone

Another fun detail about the Master Sword is that it appears to come with the Korok Forest base in the BOTW build – you can see it around 11 seconds in. Hopefully you don’t need 13 hearts to pull it.

Tiny, tiny Ocarina

The Ocarina of Time minifigures come with a tiny ocarina cube. It might not be the most surprising addition, but it is very cute.

Skulltula

Hiding around the back of the OOT Deku Tree is a Lego Skulltula guarding a hidden chest. The treasure chest is home to the Fairy Slingshot in adorable Lego form, but we’ll have to wait for the spider-beast to turn before we swoop for it.

Sheikah Slate

Princess Zelda minifigure holds her very own Sheikah Slate. A sweet addition, yes, but it looks even more elegant when plugged into the Deku Tree “terminal”.

Triforce Tunic

Speaking of the Princess Zelda Minifig, check out the details on her tunic! Following her BOTW design, there’s a slick gold and white line going on here, and we’re particularly impressed with the tiny Triforce in the middle.

Blanket Sprout

The OOT kit comes with not one but two Deku trees. A little. In addition to the titular tree, this build also features a cute little Sprout Blanket. Does that mean the big guy in the background is already dead? We’ll try not to think too much about it…

Gossip stone

Among the leaves of the OOT set lies the Gossip Stone. There appears to be a unique face plate on the front and you build the body of the stone with individual bricks at the back.

A cooking pot

We wouldn’t believe it was BOTW Link if he wasn’t cooking up some ‘thunder. Well, he is! The BOTW build looks like it has a cozy cooking station right under the Great Deku tree.

LEGO Zelda Deku Tree - Navi

Finally we have fairies! We’ve often wondered what a Lego Zelda fairy would look like. Well, here is the answer. It looks like Navi (or another random Kokiri fairy) will be part of the OOT set, represented by a blue stud on a printed translucent circular piece. It might not be the most elegant solution, but it sure looks good. The ‘Riddles of Hyrule’ section also has a normal fairy ready for the bottle. Very nice.
