Logitech expands and updates its Mac mice and keyboards

Three decades ago, when I switched from a Windows computer to a Mac, I tried to buy a replacement keyboard for my new computer. Back then, it was almost impossible to find any Mac accessories, especially a keyboard with Mac modifier keys.

Fortunately, this has all changed with the growing popularity of Mac computers. These days you can find a lot of peripherals and accessories made for Apple. For example, Logitech just announced a revamp of its line of keyboards and mice designed exclusively for Mac users.

Today, Logitech introduces a new line of Logi peripherals designed exclusively for Mac computers. The new devices feature exclusively Mac features and are sustainably manufactured.

The new range includes MX Keys S for Mac, MX Keys S Combo for Mac, MX Anywhere 3S for Mac, MX Keys Mini for Mac (now in Space Gray) and a brand new ergonomic keyboard for Apple users who have regular keyboards. Sore throat.

All new models of mice and keyboards have been designed to improve the productivity and comfort of Mac users when working away from the desk. All products can be used for devices running macOS or iPadOS. The keyboards also have dedicated macOS layouts and are available in colors that complement Apple Macs.

Logo MX Keys S for Mac is a full-sized keyboard with a number pad and a variety of function/media keys. The keys have a shaped profile and support comfortable typing. All keys have an updated Mac layout and LED backlighting. Logi MX Keys S can also be programmed using the Logi Options+ app with smart actions that save time. This is the keyboard Apple should be making. It has everything that the Apple Magic Keyboard does not have. For those who want a low-profile, non-mechanical keyboard, the MX Keys S for Mac is as good as it gets.

For people who want a complete office solution, Logitech also sells its MX Keys S Combo for Mac. This bundle includes the Logi MX Keys S keyboard for Mac and the MX Master 3S ergonomic mouse for Mac, plus an MX palm rest. The Combo product is available in Pale Gray or Space Grey. Combo is the perfect office solution and worth every penny. The battery life is amazing and Logitech has worked on it over the years in a way that few other keyboard and mouse manufacturers have.

Also announced at today’s launch was the latest version of the Logitech MX Anywhere 3S for Mac mouse. This compact rodent fits comfortably in the palm of your hand and offers ultra-fast scrolling with a quiet click. The sensor in the mouse has a fast and accurate 8K resolution allowing tracking on any surface, even glass.

This little mouse is a dream for browsing web pages and documents thanks to the MagScroll wheel. The keys are exceptionally quiet, and in addition to connecting to up to three different devices via Bluetooth, Logitech’s MX Anywhere 3S for Mac can also work with the Logitech Bolt receiver, although the Mac range doesn’t come with a Bolt dongle.

The Logi MX Keys Mini for Mac is a compact version of a full-size keyboard that’s perfect for those of us with less desk space. The keyboard is optimized for macOS and is available in Space Gray. The key functionality is identical to the larger MX Keys S keyboard with the same key shape and a full range of function and media keys.

Precise typing and smart lighting make typing on the MX Keys Mini for Mac a real joy. I have one of the previous models and it’s so easy to write on that I often pull it out when I have to write a very long article because it’s so relaxing and easy on the wrist. Battery life in all MX products is exceptionally good, especially with rechargeable batteries.

Like the other Logi keyboards and mice announced today, the MX Keys Mini can be customized and programmed using the excellent Logi Options+ software, which can assign specific functions to the keys depending on the software package in use.

The final product announced today is the Logi Ergo Wave Keys for Mac. This is Logitech’s first ergonomic keyboard for Mac and features an integrated soft-cushioned palm rest. Ergo Wave Keys are available in white and were developed in the Logi Ergo Lab. If you’re one of those people who find regular keyboards a pain in the neck, then the Ergo Wave keys for Mac could be the solution.

If you decide to switch to the Ergo Wave, be prepared to relearn how to type for a few days due to the new layout. It takes some getting used to and then it’s not that easy to switch back to regular keyboards, but if you’re one of those people who suffer from RSI or wrist pain, it’s worth a try and affordable.

When it comes to sustainability, Logitech is a company that really talks the talk. The company has made huge strides in recent years, with each new generation of its keyboards and mice having a lower carbon footprint than the last.

Users can now have their Logitech devices designed according to Sustainable Design (DfS) principles. This means they are made from alternative materials such as Next Life recycled plastic instead of virgin plastic. Using more sustainable materials should improve circularity and reduce the overall carbon footprint of the product.

Plastics used in newer products in the Logi for Mac portfolio contain up to 78% Next Life plastics. The MX range has now fully switched to consumer grade recycled plastics. Logitech has reduced the carbon footprint of its MX Keys S for Mac by 11% compared to the previous version, resulting in 192 t of CO2e eliminated per 100,000 units, which Logitech says is enough to hug the Earth 20 times.
