Neighborhood Revamp: Introducing Community Status

Redfall

With the release of Game Update 4, unlocking a new Safehouse, completing Safehouse missions, rescuing civilians or killing an Underboss will contribute to a new reputation bar called “Community Standing”. As you help the people of Redfall free their city from the grip of the vampire gods, you’ll be able to use your support currency to unlock new rewards from the Safehouse skill tree.

There are six levels of Community Standing that give you 39 unique rewards that serve as permanent buffs. As you progress up the skill tree, the unlocks will become more and more effective.

To give you a better idea of what upgrades await you, let’s take a look at a few unlocks from each of the six Community Standing levels.

  • Rank 1
    • Indulge: Cosmetics near your location will appear on your map and compass.
    • I am in: Turrets and Tripwire will take 50% less time to hack.
  • Rank 2
    • The rest of the story: Grave locks near your location will appear on your map and compass.
    • Ammunition dump: Human enemies drop more ammo to kill.
  • Rank 3
    • Well grounded: Take 50% less damage with Rook Storm lightning strikes.
    • Castle Doctrine: Unlocked Safehouse defenses now include multiple friendly towers.
  • Rank 4
    • Family Heirloom: Fishermen, Shrouds, and Siphons drop better rewards on death.
    • Homeopathic medicine: Using a medical item has a 40% chance of not consuming the item.
  • Rank 5
    • Crystal ball: Each Psychic Residue Orb collected has a 40% chance to give you significantly more Psychic Residue.
    • The Last Laugh: Friendly Turrets electrocute enemies within 20 meters when destroyed. Does not affect enemies immune to electrocution.
  • Rank 6
    • High Roller: Unmatched items appear much more often in loot.
    • Escape plan: After reaching critical health, activate the saved Bellwether Cloak for 10 seconds. The attack is disabled. It can only occur once every 10 minutes.

All upgrades from the Community Standing Skill Tree are meant to give you a combination of quality of life and in-game benefits. Some of these features will even help collectors complete their hunt for cosmetics and graves.

Revamp Nest: Elder Nest

Redfall

Also coming with Game Update 4 are Elder Nests. These new boss-focused nests challenge you to destroy dangerously modified special vampires and free Redfall from their influence.

Portals to the Elder Nest appear around Redfall much like their Heart Nest siblings. But these new psychic spaces can be distinguished by their violet glow above the areas where their influence extends.

Once you accept the challenge and enter the Elder Nest, your goal is to find the vampire boss buried deep inside and destroy them, free the heart inside, grab your rewards, and escape.

After successfully clearing an Elder Nest, you (and your teammates) will be granted a temporary buff called a Heart Shard. The duration of a heart shard varies with campaign difficulty; granting a longer buff at each higher difficulty.

Here are just a few Heart Shards that can be awarded after completing the Elder Nest:

  • Ammunition Synthesis: Holstered weapons regenerate ammo and recharge when not in use.
  • UV treatment: The player gains health when hit by UV radiation.
  • Light in the dark: The expanding aura around the Nest weakens the vampires within it, instead of the usual strengthening effect.

Another big change is coming to all Nests with this update. If you fail to escape the nest during its destabilization phase, you will now not get Major Remanent. Any loot you pick up will still be yours, but Major Remanent is now rewarded after you successfully leave a collapsing nest.

Quality of life

  • Offline mode – With the release of Game Update 4, you will be able to play Redfall when disconnected from the Internet. You will also be able to continue playing if you are disconnected from the internet in the middle of a solo session. When playing co-op, the host will be placed in a separate offline session.
  • Single player suspension – Another new feature we are happy to introduce is single player pause. Now, if you need some time to adjust your set, or just need to get away for a minute, the world Redfall he will wait with you.

Redfall is available now for Xbox Series and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store and Microsoft Store.
