The launch of Ring’s next-generation security camera has been delayed in the UK. The delay was apparently due to a problem in the manufacturing process, with no word on when the Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Camera will hit digital shelves on Amazon UK.

A brand new camera to spy on your home nowhere hide was due to launch in the UK and US on May 30 after being revealed earlier this month.

Speaking to GB News, an Amazon spokesperson said: “We have experienced a delay in production which has affected our shipping date, but we look forward to getting the Pan-Tilt Indoor Camera into customers’ hands soon.”

While the Ring brand is best known for popularizing video doorbells, it offers a wide range of door sensors, indoor and outdoor security cameras, floodlights and alarm systems. The latest addition to its lineup — the Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Camera — uses a motor to rotate in place to keep tabs on people moving around your home.

Ring previously offered this feature with optional motorized mount for £34.99 for your existing indoor security cameras. However, the Pan-Tilt indoor camera is the first time it has been incorporated into a stand-alone product. As a result, a new camera is much more affordable than buying both parts separately.

The camera can rotate a full 360 degrees left and right and also tilt 169 degrees up and down…hence the name. Using this full range of motion, the circular sliding indoor camera is designed to look around the room and keep its lens focused on anyone who shouldn’t be there, pets who are home alone, or anything else that might could be out of order.

You can manually control the Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Camera using the touchscreen controls built into the Ring app on iPhone and Android. With simple directional arrows, you’ll be able to point the 1080p HD camera at anything that catches your eye inside your home.

And thanks to the built-in color night vision, you won’t miss anything – even in the dark.

Amazon has previously offered a motorized base for its existing Indoor Cam products that allows them to rotate and offer additional vantage points of the room, but this is the first time the technology has been combined into a standalone product.

The Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam seamlessly integrates with other devices in the Ring range, including best-selling video doorbells. This diddy camera is designed to be a useful companion to a range of video doorbells to help monitor rooms not covered by the front door signal.

With the Ring app, you can set the Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam to record whenever someone rings your Ring doorbell, or to start recording video when it detects motion.

The ability to pan and rotate the camera from anywhere in the world using the Ring app also means it’s ideal for monitoring problem pets or larger rooms with multiple doors and windows that might otherwise be out of range with a traditional security camera. .

An update to the Ring app for Android and iPhone will allow Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam owners to use the on-screen directional arrows to move the lens and focus on different parts of the room.

Since Ring is owned by Amazon, the system is closely integrated with its AI assistant, Alexa.

If you have an Amazon Echo device at home, you’ll be able to use the hands-free virtual assistant to start recording from any Ring set.

For example, you can say “Alexa, show me the living room” to see live video from the Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam on your touchscreen Echo device or Fire TV. You can talk to people in the room through the built-in speaker on the Ring camera when the protective cover is not used.

Covering the lens with a plastic privacy cover will interrupt audio and video recording on the Pan-Tilt Indoor Camera. You can also adjust when the camera records, add specific areas in the room that are never recorded and other privacy settings in the Ring app on iPhone and Android.

When you subscribe, Ring will store recordings in the cloud for up to 180 days its Ring Protect plan for £4.99 per month or £49.99 per year. This paid subscription also unlocks automatic shipment detection, lets you mute notifications for familiar faces, download up to 50 camera roll videos, and brings video previews to notifications on your iPhone, Android, Fire TV, or Apple Watch. .
