June 5th Hogwarts legacy update released, 55GB in size, full patch notes

Avalanche Software has just released a new title update for Hogwarts Legacy. According to the release notes, the June 5 patch for PC is 55GB in size and brings content to the game that was exclusive to PlayStation consoles. So let’s take a closer look.

The June 5th update unlocks the Haunted Shop mission. That being said, this mission was previously exclusive to Sony consoles. So it’s pretty cool that we finally get to experience it. That is, if you still have the game installed on your system. It also makes all special items and cosmetics available to everyone. This includes the Onyx Hyppogriff mount, the Felix Felicis potion, and the Shopkeeper cosmetic set.

Additionally, this update adds a photo mode. This mode will allow players to take screenshots of their Hogwarts Legacy experience and any newly unlocked cosmetics. I’ve never been a fan of Photo Mode in games, but that’s just me. Note that Photo mode will be available after completing the mission to access the field guide.

And there’s more. This update also includes some changes and fixes for PC players only. Updates NVIDIA DLSS and Intel XeSS to the latest versions. Unfortunately, AMD FSR is still in version 2.0. The update will also clean up rogue semi-translucent meshes in BVH for ray tracing. In addition, it solves the problem where the colors would suddenly change when the camera moves in Hogwarts.

Overall, this latest update is a welcome addition. The previous patch for this game came out in June 2023. So it’s pretty cool to see an update like this a year later.

Speaking of Hogwarts Legacy, you might also want to check out the following mods. In theory, they should be compatible with the latest version of the game. So you can download a really great VR Mod. Then we have this multiplayer mod which is still in early access. Ah, the beauty of paid mods. In addition, you can find a mod that allows you to play as Harry Potter. Then we have this amazing first person mod. And finally you can download this Accurate Dialogue Choices Mod.

As always, Steam will download this patch the next time it launches its client. You can also find its full changelog below.
