Samsung is reducing the price of the Galaxy Watch 6 in a new promotion

Samsung is busy preparing a major update for Galaxy Watch owners that will bring a host of new AI features to the older smartwatch. Meanwhile, the company has also slashed the price of the Galaxy Watch 6 ahead of its launch.

UK shoppers can pick up the Galaxy Watch 6 or Watch 6 Classic for £75 ($21.59) less, now £324.00 ($412.13). This is combined with a cashback of up to £175 ($222.60) for your old smartwatch. The most valuable items that Samsung accepts are of course the Apple Watch. Specifically, the Apple Watch Ultra.

The reason for the price cut could be the fact that Samsung is set to launch the Galaxy Watch 7 at the Galaxy Unpacked event next month. New rumors this week suggest that the Korean company is planning to release 40mm and 44mm sizes like the Galaxy Watch 6 series, but also a brand new Ultra model that is said to have a 47mm titanium case.

The standard Watch 6 hasn’t been discounted, but I suspect it will be given how close we are to the launch. If you’re thinking of taking up the Watch 6 Classic offer, it’s worth holding out until at least July 10 after the event starts.

U.S. shoppers can now get in on the action with a new discount on the Watch 6. Samsung knocked $60 off the Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic, while raising counter prices that max out at $250 for the Apple Watch Series 8 or Galaxy Watch 5 Pro.

The company also offered discounted Galaxy Buds as part of a bundle, bringing them down to $99 from $299.99. As is typical with Samsung headphones, they are bundled or often discounted, so you should never pay full price for them.

Elsewhere, Samsung continues its Galaxy S24 Ultra dual storage offering. Buyers get 512GB of storage for the price of the 256GB model. Samsung has now paired it with an improved trade-in price of up to $750.

To get it, you’ll have to pass on last year’s Galaxy S23 Ultra, which isn’t worth it given the new AI tools the device recently received. But S21 Ultra users can get a very good $550 for their phone, while iPhone 13 Pro users can get a decent $350 for their phone.

There’s a good chance that Samsung will cut the prices of existing wearables even more to make room for the new technology. Or, if you want the latest device, the company will launch some aggressive pre-order offers with increased trade-in prices and a bundled treat (which will likely be a free pair of Galaxy Buds).

The same Galaxy Buds are also currently included with all Galaxy S24 purchases. However, this is not as impressive as Samsung’s other recent offerings in the UK. Last month, the company knocked huge amounts off almost every Galaxy phone in its lineup, slashing between 22% and 38% off select phones.

If you’re a current Galaxy Watch owner and aren’t considering an upgrade, Samsung plans to introduce some new AI features through One UI 6 — the first major update for Samsung’s wearables in a while. At the heart of the update are improved recommendations based on personalized health data, with new AI-powered skills to more accurately track sleep, health and exercise. The new tools may partially offset the urge to buy Samsung’s latest shiny new toys, so stay tuned for an update.
