All four iPhone 15 models feature a setting that prevents the device from charging above 80% when it’s on, which can potentially improve iPhone battery life by reducing the amount of time it takes for the battery to be fully charged. And with iOS 18, Apple has taken this feature a step further by adding new charge limit options of 85%, 90% and 95%.
You can find the feature in the Settings app under Battery → Charging.
The charge limit feature remains exclusive to the iPhone 15 series in the first iOS 18 beta, with the option not available on the iPhone 14 Pro or earlier.
The first iOS 18 beta is available now for members of the Apple Developer Program, with a public beta to follow in July. After beta testing, the update should be widely released to all users with an iPhone XS or later in September.
