People planning a holiday later in the year will have a choice of five new routes opening from Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
Low-cost airline easyJet will fly from Speke Airport to Prague, Marrakesh, Malta, Berlin and Fuerteventura from this winter.
Already on sale, the airline will fly three times a week to Prague from 28 October, twice a week to Marrakesh from 13 November, twice a week to Malta from 10 December, twice a week to Berlin from 14 February and once a week to Fuerteventura from 19 February

Many ECHO readers were delighted by the announcement. Commenting on our Facebook page, Mike Mooney said it was “great news” while Debbie O’Reilly added: “yes please – keep it up”. Anthony Curley agreed, saying “the more the merrier”.
Sylvia Pugliese was delighted to see the German capital added to the route map (“great news for Berlin”), while on the ECHO website “Ormskirkmagnate” was more excited about a trip to Morocco. He said: “Marrakech is fast becoming the place to go according to people I know.”
Some readers were keen on other destinations and offered some suggestions of their own for airlines operating from Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
Angela Duffy said: “More flights to Germany please, apart from Berlin and Strasbourg in France.”
Francophile Janice John suggested that easyJet could add Limoges in central France.
Meanwhile, Denise Day dreams of escaping to the Greek metropolis. She said, “We need Athens.”
Several sun seekers said they would welcome more winter sun destinations on the Liverpool John Lennon route map.
Jan Campbell-Hague said: “How about flights to Madeira? The best winter destination by a mile.”
Christine Hully suggested that flights to Gibraltar could be added, “even if only a few flights a week”.
Of the confirmed destinations, easyJet says: “For those looking for some winter sun, both Fuerteventura and Malta could be contenders. easyJet now operates seven aircraft from Liverpool, carrying around 2 million passengers a year to 32 destinations.

It is now possible to book flights on new routes. They are:
- Flights from Liverpool to Fuerteventura will operate once a week on Wednesdays from 19 February with prices from £27.99*
- Flights from Liverpool to Malta will operate twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 10 December with prices from £32.99*
- Flights from Liverpool to Prague will operate three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 28 October with prices from £26.99*
- Flights from Liverpool to Marrakech will operate twice weekly on Wednesdays and Sundays from 13 November with prices from £37.99*
