Years ago, SpaceX founder Elon Musk allegedly exposed himself to a SpaceX flight attendant before offering her a strange quid pro quo – he would give her a horse if she gave him an erotic massage. The company then reportedly paid the woman $250,000 to settle a 2018 sexual misconduct lawsuit against Musk.
In 2022, Musk denied the allegations and said Business Insiderwho first reported the allegation: “If I was inclined to engage in sexual harassment, it is unlikely to be the first time in my entire 30-year career that it has come to light.”
Now, two years later, more allegations have surfaced regarding Musk’s behavior in his relationships.
The billionaire had affairs with a number of female employees at SpaceX and pressed others for sexual favors, according to a new The Wall Street Journal report, based on interviews with more than 48 sources as well as emails, texts and records.
Musk’s alleged series of sexual encounters, or solicitations, with women who worked for him is nothing short of lewd.
Musk, the world’s second-richest person, had a relationship with the summer intern before giving her a role on his leadership team years later. He asked another woman to bear his children and had a monthly sexual relationship with a woman he directly supervised in 2014. Magazine reported.
Gwynne Shotwell, SpaceX’s president and chief operating officer, has resigned diary A report telling the paper that its coverage was full of “falsehoods, mischaracterizations and revisionist history” that “paint a completely misleading narrative.”
She added, “Elon is one of the best people I know.”
The company investigates all complaints of sexual harassment and deals with them accordingly, Shotwell said.
The Independent emailed SpaceX for comment.
Musk, who has 11 children, reportedly asked an employee to deliver his babies on more than one occasion Magazine reported. She declined his offer but remained in her role. A year after the internship, the billionaire allegedly flew her to Sicily. Her travels reportedly included a first-class trip to London, followed by a private jet to Italy to attend a Google-sponsored conference. The relationship ended some time after the international meeting.
But years later, in 2017, Musk contacted the former intern and offered her a position on his senior staff. She took the job Magazine wrote and moved from New York to California.
Although their relationship ended, Musk asked her out for a drink after she got to California. There, he allegedly hit the former intern and touched her breasts.
The store obtained affidavits signed by the woman. In them, she stated that she did not have a relationship with Musk while she was employed by SpaceX from 2017 to 2019. She wrote, “Elon tried to rekindle our relationship prior to my employment and I refused the advance. While there was some initial awkwardness, it wasn’t unusual after the rejection.’
However, her conversations with her friends seemed to tell a different story. The outlet spoke to friends of the former intern who recalled her saying she wasn’t enjoying her time at SpaceX; sometimes she hid in the company bathroom; that she suffered from “impostor syndrome”; and that she struggled to get her colleagues to take her ideas seriously.
The former intern frequently traveled to the billionaire’s home and was the recipient of many texts from the Musks, friends said. In one text conversation he saw MagazineMusk repeatedly asked the woman to come.
When she didn’t respond, he texted three times in quick succession before allegedly writing: “Probably best if we don’t see each other.” The next morning, reports showed the woman responded by apologizing for not getting back to him because she was asleep.
Her lawyers said so Magazine that the “breakup” part of Musk’s text “did not refer to a romantic relationship.”
However, the woman’s boyfriend said so Magazine that he suffers from mild social anxiety “stemming from impostor syndrome,” which “definitely makes this job difficult… And that definitely magnifies Elon’s behavior.”
Eventually, the former intern asked to move Musk’s executive team into a different role. She told friends that her interactions with the founder had become awkward. She left the company in 2019, the outlet reported.
