In iOS 18, Apple added a new multi-color swatch to the font and color customization options on the lock screen, so you can now display the time in rainbow colors on your chosen wallpaper.

Unlike the other color swatches, the multi-color option is currently not available for widgets and the date, which will turn white when using the rainbow effect. However, there’s a good chance that this is something that Apple intends to implement but hasn’t gotten around to it in the developer beta yet.

‌iOS 18‌ also allows users for the first time to change the two shortcut buttons Flashlight and Camera on the lock screen to an action of their choice.

The ability to change these controls on the lock screen is part of a wave of new customization features in iOS 18, which include options to change the color of app icons and more. The first public beta is expected to arrive in July, and the official release of ‌iOS 18‌ is scheduled for fall.
