AIRCRAFT chaos left Britons fearing for their lives when a Boeing made an emergency stop on a botched take-off.
The twin-engine Boeing 737-800 skidded over the runway at Dalman Airport in Turkey before screeching to a halt.
Passengers were left spewing in their seats after the pilot taxied out of take-off with the front of the airliner already in the air.
Horror footage shows the interior of the cabin of flight TOM213 as the jet plunged back onto the tarmac as passengers clung to their seats.
They were already delayed for four hours on Monday due to “malfunctions” of the plane destined for Manchester.
The plane’s operator later reported that the reason for the aborted attempt was a “technical problem”.

Boeing’s latest blunder comes as the company faces questions over several incidents in recent months involving malfunctions on its planes.
One traveler told The Sun: “Before we set off, a lot of workers came because one of the engines had broken down.
Finally, the takeoff pilot joked over the PA system, “We’re doing well news and the bad news – the good news is that there is no bad news.”
We all thought we were going to die
Frightened passenger
Moments later, the plane raised its nose to take off before suddenly crashing back down.
The impact sent passengers crashing their faces into the seats in front of them, while others started having panic attacks.
The plane, piloted by TUI staff, then glided across the tarmac for a breathtaking 10 seconds before coming to a stop.
Passengers on board the Turkish flight revealed the terrifying emotions her fellow passengers were experiencing during the error: “I thought we had hit another plane.
“As we were going down the skid, the flight attendant knelt down and said ‘I have three children.’
“The babies were crying and the mothers couldn’t even calm them down. We all thought we were going to die.”
Passengers were heard shouting “get out” after the sudden impact.
The pilot is said to have told shaken passengers that the plane was traveling at 175 mph when he aborted takeoff.
They are also believed to have compared an airplane to a car being stuck on the road.
One passenger said the pilot’s words only made the situation worse, leaving people confused and without any explanation as to why the takeoff went so badly.
The plane was never safe to fly – I’m glad the pilot bailed out because god knows what would have happened otherwise
Frightened passenger
Another video of the aftermath shows the pilot telling traumatized travelers: “We had another malfunction on the plane.
“It looks quite dramatic – I know it’s upsetting.
They were then forced to stay in the plane for another 30 minutes as dozens of fire crews surrounded the stream.
The passenger said: “We think one of the engines might have been on fire but we didn’t see anything.
“The plane was never safe to fly – I’m glad the pilot bailed out because god knows what would have happened otherwise.”
Some passengers then reported smelling burning fuel from the back of the plane.
The source also claimed that TUI representatives involved in the flight asked the passengers to stay in Turkey for another three days.
Nearly 200 people are said to be stranded trying to find accommodation.
They were then told that the same airline would be used for a rebooked flight to the UK.
Several passengers rejected the offer, with one spending £300 on a Spirit Airlines flight back to Manchester – vowing never to set foot on a TUI flight again.
Passengers are still waiting to see how much compensation they have from the airline.
A TUI UK and Ireland spokesperson told The Sun: “We are sorry to hear about customers’ experiences following the delayed departure of flight TOM213 from Dalaman to Manchester.
“While we always try to get our customers to and from their holiday as safely and smoothly as possible, unfortunately on this occasion a technical issue delayed the flight’s departure.
“All customers will automatically receive compensation for flight delays and we will learn from this incident to improve communication with our customers.”
They claimed that the plane suffered a “technical problem” rather than an engine fire and that the plane did not veer off the runway.
Boeing representatives have been contacted by The Sun for comment.
THE DEPTH OF BOEING
Just weeks ago, a Boeing 737 with 50 passengers on board was forced to make an emergency landing just minutes after takeoff.
The United Airlines plane was in the air for only a few minutes before complaints of a wing discrepancy were reported.
The 747-400 also had to turn back after flames were seen shooting from the engine during takeoff.
Horrifying footage shows streaks of orange flames shooting from the jet as it soars into the air with 450 passengers on board.
The Sun also reported on a burning plane that washed off a runway in Senegal in May.
A Boeing 737 was seen on fire as terrified passengers were forced to jump to the ground for safety at Dakar airport.
All 73 passengers were evacuated, fifteen of them were injured – four of them seriously.
Hours earlier, another Boeing plane had a technical problem, raising safety concerns and causing further headaches for the aviation giant.
A total of 190 people had to be evacuated after their Corendon Airlines flight suffered a flat tire while landing at Gazipasa Airport in Alanya, Turkey.
