People have a new fear unlocked after a woman shares a theory that we never actually die

A TikToker has opened up about his theory about why we never actually die, and it’s freaking people out.

You know that feeling after a night out when you go back to your friend’s house and sit until the wee hours of the morning and end up talking about random and slightly bizarre ideas or experiences so much that you feel like you’re in an alternate reality and questioning the meaning of life? No? Just me?

Well, one woman didn’t wait until 4 a.m. after a particularly rough night to come up with her theory about whether we ever really die.

Few people actually want to die. While some believe in heaven or an afterlife, others aren’t sure what happens after death, and that can be, frankly, scary.

However, the idea of living forever and your back and hips becoming even more at risk, your memory fading further, is definitely not appealing either.

And the question of life and eternal life is something that has led people to think about topics like quantum immortality.

In layman’s terms, this means that people never die, but in reality it’s much more complicated than that.

The theory suggests that human consciousness never actually dies, but it does mean that we could have experienced countless multiple apocalypses and extinction events.

It’s enough to feed your existential dread for months, so – with that in mind – let’s learn a little more about it, shall we?

This theory has been explained by many people, but we will focus on TikTok user @joli.artist, who discussed the idea of quantum immortality, as well as American physicist Hugh Everett’s “many worlds” theory.

He proposed that there are countless other worlds and other realities, and when we die we simply transfer to another one.

In her TikTok video, Joli suggested that there is a chance that we will “never really die” and that we could have experienced the end of the world on many occasions.

“Whenever you die in one universe, your consciousness is simply transferred to another universe where you survive,” she said.

In short, that’s the idea here.

Of course, it’s a lot more complicated than that, it involves a lot of math and science, but we’re working on word count here, and frankly, it’s really quite difficult and boring.

Joli explained how – if there is anything to this theory – we wouldn’t remember the previous world we moved to, but we might have some basic memories – similar to the Mandela effect.

“So after the inevitable apocalypse happens, you wake up the next day in a new reality, and the next thing you know, you’re on Reddit talking about since when does Pizza Hut have two T’s?” she explained.

“Arguing with people who are native to this new reality, talking about how it always had two T’s?”

Joli added, “You don’t believe me? Well, it’s been about 65 million years since asteroids supposedly wiped out the dinosaurs.”

“So you’re telling me that in the last 65 million years no other asteroids have passed by and taken us out?”

“I’m saying that Earth is probably always removed and our consciousness is still being transferred to another parallel universe—and then another and another.

“If you know, the apocalypse probably happened last night…”

In any case, the very idea is already in the head of some people.

“OH NOT TODAY,” said one comment.

“Ok, I’m actually a little scared right now because I’m not the conspiracy type, but you’re like a scary brain,” said another.

“The thought of never being able to die is extremely depressing and gives me a headache,” added a third.

Yeah, you can rock me to sleep tonight.
