Adobe’s new T&Cs lead to calls for a boycott
In a move that has reverberated across all digitally-based creative industries, Adobe has updated its terms of use, adding some questionable points of interest and prompting a user revolt.
Social media lit up with photographers, videographers and content creators calling for a boycott of Adobe and its products after its updated terms of use allowed the company access to any form of media uploaded to its many programs. This has raised questions about privacy and security and eroded the trust of many creative professionals who use Adobe for their daily workflow.
Since the first update, Adobe has been inundated with questions and comments. In an attempt to answer them, it released a statement that clarifies what the updates mean and how they will be used in the future…

Pentax recycles old cameras (again)
Ricoh has added two new cameras to its range of waterproof digital compacts: the entry-level Pentax WG-1000 and the more advanced Pentax WG-8.
While some may think this is an exciting expansion of the adventure camera market, some Ricoh followers – including our less-than-enthusiastic lab manager Ben Andrews – may find the updates hard to spot. Ricoh bought Pentax back in 2011 and it looks like it’s now starting to use the Pentax brand more widely – once again using it for compact cameras
A quick comparison would suggest that our initial fears were correct and there is no difference between the Pentax WG-8 and its predecessor the Ricoh WG-6 – apart from the change in brand name and model number…

Nikon Z6 III leaked… from Nikon
The Nikon Z6 III has its cover broken even before its launch – and it’s not thanks to leaked images or rumors about the camera from the depths of the web: it’s from Nikon itself.
Nikon has launched an online trailer originally titled “Z6III | Ready to perform? June 17th at 8:00 a.m. ET” and later renamed “Ready to Perform? June 17 at 8:00 a.m. ET”. You can check out the embedded video below, which reveals a surprising amount about the new camera.
As you’d expect from the trailer, it shows glimpses of the Nikon Z6 III in action. While it only gives us brief glimpses of the camera, it’s enough to confirm that it does – it looks exactly how you’d expect the successor to the Nikon Z6 II to look…

Pentax’s new film camera, the Pentax 17, has been leaked online
Last time I talked about Pentax’s new film camera, Pentax released an ASMR video demo that gave us some clues as to what it might be. Now that the internet has been taken by storm as leaked images of the front of the new camera confirm several clues hinted at in the ASMR video.
First, the picture shows the front of the new Pentax 17 – that’s right, that’s the name of the camera. I’m sure this alludes to the fact that this is a 17mm half frame format – which is 24×17 and the same as the amazing Ricoh AutoHalf.
If you look closely, the font style of the logo is the same as that of the Pentax 67 – and we know that Takeo Suzuki, aka TKO, who is behind the design of this new camera, is very particular about the use of fonts. It’s nice to see that this camera will go hand in hand with those older cameras from the brand…
