Nintendo Direct 2024 revealed 35 new games for the Nintendo Switch on Tuesday, June 19, 2024. It was a great preview for fans of Nintendo games, but as it turns out, it was also a pretty generous preview for PlayStation fans. After all, more than half of the titles announced at the Nintendo Direct will also be coming to PS5 in near future.
While we already knew about a few PS5 games (for example, we already saw the PS5 Lego Horizon Adventures reveal at Summer Game Fest 2024), we still have some new gameplay footage and details on previously announced titles.

Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D
The highly anticipated remake Dragon Quest 3 using Square Enix’s HD-2D engine finally has a PS5 release date: Thursday, November 14, 2024. The game looks amazing, and as creator Yuji Horii pointed out in the showcase, this third game is a great jumping-in point into the franchise for new players, as it’s the first chronological entry in the series. It’s just a shame that this Dragon Quest 3 remake won’t see a PS4 release either.
Dragon Quest 1-2 HD-2D
In a big surprise from the Nintendo Direct, Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii also revealed that HD-2D is remaking the first two Dragon Quest the games will be released on PS5 in 2025. Having played both of these classic RPGs myself recently, I can vouch for their quality – they’re still an absolute joy to play today. Putting together the entire Erdrick trilogy in this style is truly an RPG fan’s dream come true.
Lego Horizon Adventures
While we still think it’s a little weird that Lego Horizon Adventures is skipping a PS4 port — I mean, the game runs on Nintendo Switch for God’s sake — it’s great to see this Sony-Nintendo collaboration reconfirmed during the recent Direct.
Taking a light look at the Guerrilla franchise looks like an absolute treat and we can’t wait to get our hands on the PS5 version later this year.
Fantasian Neo Dimension
Like a big fan Final Fantasy and the later work of franchise creator Hironobu Sakaguchi (a must-see for all RPG fans A lost odyssey), this is probably the Nintendo Direct announcement I was most excited about.
fanciful is a full JRPG from Final Fantasycreator that has been locked on iOS devices for too long. It’s finally coming out on PS5 and PS4 later this year and I can’t wait. People even have Nobuo Uematsu on the soundtrack!
Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection Arcade Classics
Another entry in Capcom Fighting Collection is full of classics Marvel vs. Capcom games and beat them. It will feature some of the brilliant X-Men arcade games of the day plus various iterations of the first few Marvel vs. Capcom titles.
This includes all time classics Marvel vs Capcom 2, of course, so stay tuned for the new version. The collection will be available on PS4, but you can still play it on PS5 when it launches later this year.
Funko Fusion

Trust me if there’s one outlet that knows exactly when Funko Fusion set to launch on PS5 and PS4, it’s TrueTrophy. The latest Nintendo Direct showed off a bit more gameplay, but Staff Writer Sean has been keeping an eye on all the new Funko Fusion characters in anticipation of this crossover action game.
It still looks good, but I think we need to see a bit more Warrior Princess Xena in action! Funko Fusion will launch on PS5 and PS4 Friday, September 13, 2024.
Ace Attorney Investigations Collection
We already have at least three Ace Attorney collections available on PS5 and PS4, but this is the one I’ve been waiting for. Ace Attorney Investigations Collection Starring District Attorney Miles Edgeworth, it flips the perspective of cases when you’re trying to put people away instead of getting them out unscathed.
The collection includes the second game in this spin-off series that was never localized into English, so it’s a really big treat for Ace Attorney fans. Ace Attorney Investigations Collection launches on PS4 Friday, September 6, 2024but you will still be able to play it on PS5.
Romantic Saga 2 Revenge of the Seven
Only a few months have passed since the release Saga Emerald Beyond, which may not have wowed PS5 players with its production, but it certainly impressed me with its smooth turn-based gameplay. Well, it looks like we’ll have another chance to appreciate the smooth gameplay of the series when this Romantic Saga 2 remake will launch later this year.
It is worth noting that this new edition, Revenge of the Sevenwill be significantly different from Romantic Saga 2 released on PS4 and PS Vita back in 2017. This time we get a full 3D remake — a substantial visual overhaul compared to the previous 2D remaster of the 1993 original.
Looney Tunes Wacky World of Sports

I know you can look at the visuals of this game and think it must be a remake of some forgotten game from the PS2 era Looney Tunes game, but no, it’s actually a brand new title for PS5 and PS4. Looney Tunes Wacky World of Sports will feature arcade shots of basketball, football, golf and tennis, all featuring your favorites Looney Tunes characters.
The game will be published by GameMill Entertainment, so buyer beware – it could be really terrible. It will be released for PS5 and PS4 later in 2025.
Memories of MIO in orbit
I know many fans were devastated by this Hollow Knight Silksong they didn’t show up at the Nintendo Direct, but to be fair, I think we still got one very interesting metroidvania out of the show! MIO: Memories in Orbit It seems to have the smooth action platforming we’ve come to expect from the genre and really slick visuals, and I’m looking forward to seeing more of this game in the lead up to the 2025 release date.
Fairy tale 2

Fans Fairytale anime will be able to experience the entire original series through gameplay in this 2020 sequel Fairytale. Unlike most anime adaptations, this isn’t really a fighting game, it’s all RPG, and it seems to have some cool JRPG hybrid elements. I look forward to seeing more of this game before it launches later this year.
Farmagia

Why choose between Stardew Valley and Pokemon when you can combine them into one big action game! in Farmagiayou grow monsters like plants in farming simulator mode and then take them into battle to engage in massive boss fights.
It’s basically like Nintendo Pikmin but with additional farming duties, which honestly sounds lovely. Launch is set for PS5 Friday, November 1, 2024.
Metal Slug Attack Reloaded
This tower defense on Metal Slug series surprisingly launched on PS5 and PS4 right after its Nintendo Direct reveal, so you can jump in and check this one out! Metal Slug Attack Reloaded it looks like a real hardcore tower defense genre, so if you’re a fan of those types of games, you should definitely check this one out!
Hello Kitty Island Adventure
After the transition with Animal CrossingHello Kitty seems to have decided she’d rather star in her own idyllic island sim than play second fiddle to a Nintendo franchise. The good news is that PS5 and PS4 players will also get it Hello kitty game in early 2025, so if you’re a fan of decorating your house and relaxing with your friends, look forward to this one.
Phantom Brave The Lost Hero
Phantom Brave The Lost Hero It seems to be a cross between a strategy game and a puzzle game as you possess different items and enemies to clear your way and defeat your enemies. It comes from Nippon Ichi Software, the people behind it Disgaea franchise, so expect plenty of content to chew on and some beautiful colorful artwork to look at.
Darkest Dungeon 2
PS5 players will finally be able to get their hands on this long-awaited Darkest Dungeon continued on Monday, July 15, 2024. We’ve known this title was coming to PlayStation for a while now, but it was still nice to see it show up at the Nintendo Direct and remind people that consoles will soon be able to play this brutal tactical RPG.
Tales of the Shire: A The Lord of the Rings Game
Despite having arguably one of the worst titles in video games right now, Stories of the Region it continues to look like an absolutely great cozy fan sim Lord of the Rings. This game lets you play the role of a hobbit and start your own little burrow to live in. It should be released on PS5 and PS4 sometime later this year.

One big bit of DLC news we got from the Nintendo Direct is that Between us is getting the “New Roles” update on PS5 and PS4. This update threatens to shake up the gameplay considerably with new types of teammates and rogues to play as.
