Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked event is likely around the corner as the tech giant historically unveils foldable phones in July or August. We expect a lot of products to be unveiled – from phones to a smart ring.
Artificial intelligence is sure to be a part of this summer’s Unpacked, which is likely to introduce new smart gadgets for foldable phones and AI-powered fitness features.
So without further ado, here are the five key things we expect from the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked in July.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6
First up, we’re sure to see the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6. You can expect it to be a minor update over its predecessor, with an improved chip – likely the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 – and potentially a few design tweaks. But don’t expect significant changes.
More power should provide support for all the AI tools, say live translation, and the generative editing tools we saw in the Galaxy S24 line, extended only to foldable phones.
Camera upgrades haven’t been talked about much from the rumours, so we expect the Galaxy Z Fold 6’s camera set to remain similar in specs to the Galaxy Z Fold 5. However, it’s very likely that there will be a software upgrade, and we hope that thanks to Samsung’s foldable devices will crack. list of the best camera phones.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6
The more interesting foldable phone on Unpacked should be the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6, which is said to have more significant improvements than its book-like foldable sibling.
Get ready for a 50-megapixel main camera, a bigger battery with a potential capacity of 4,000 mAh, 25W charging, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, a new set of colors and a potentially less visible notch on the screen.
Similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 6, we can expect artificial intelligence to play a role in the next-gen Flip, bringing smart tools to help people better use the flip screen format.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 7
We should also see new Galaxy Watches, with the seventh iteration likely to bring better battery life, more power, better charging and outdoor-focused features.
This Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 could also come in Pro and Classic versions, which we would expect to have a rotating bezel. There are also rumors of a Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra, which is supposed to be a premium model of the Watch 7, which could have a micro-LED display, more power and a bigger battery. Additionally, it may include advanced fitness and wellness tracking features that are likely limited to the Ultra model only.
Samsung Galaxy Ring
Arguably the most interesting Unpacked product, the Galaxy Ring is Samsung’s first smart ring and promises to have a whole host of fitness and wellness tracking features, all hidden in a slick-looking ring available in several designs.
Key features of the Galaxy Ring will be the ability to track continuous heart rate during sleep, sleep latency, respiratory rate, and nocturnal movement, four metrics that the current Galaxy Watch 6 doesn’t track. These metrics will use sleep metrics to create a “Vitality” score and offer sleep apnea detection, but we expect it will also support other health and fitness assessments.
Samsung hasn’t said much about the Galaxy Ring’s other features, but I expect its secret sauce to be tight integration with Samsung Health and the Galaxy ecosystem.
Lots of AI
Finally, you can expect more AI in Unpacked. As Apple Intelligence brings AI to all types of devices, expect Samsung to do the same, all under the umbrella of Galaxy AI.
I can see Samsung pushing AI features for foldable phones, but also showing off smarter tools and features for their smartwatches – let’s say their own AI exercise. As mentioned, I’m sure AI will play a role in getting the most out of the Galaxy Ring.
I’d also expect Samsung to introduce some additional Galaxy AI features for various devices, as well as lay out a roadmap for where its AI technology could go next; this could give us a clue as to what to expect from the Samsung Galaxy S25 in general.
