Apple plans to release a second beta version of iOS 18 to developers on Monday, Apple spokesman Fred Sainz said The Verge. The information was provided as part of an announcement about certain new ‌iOS 18‌, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia features that will be delayed in the European Union.

Two of the features not coming to the EU this fall will be introduced in the ‌iOS 18‌ developer beta next week, with Apple introducing support for iPhone Mirroring in ‌macOS Sequoia‌ and expanded SharePlay screen sharing across ‌iOS 18‌, ‌iPadOS, and ‌OS 18‌. Sequoia.

‌iPhone‌ mirroring lets you control your ‌iPhone‌ through your Mac, with full functionality to access apps, interact with notifications, and more. SharePlay screen sharing will allow Apple users to take over another Apple user’s screen to provide technical support and other assistance.

None of these options are available in the current beta versions of ‌iOS 18‌, ‌iPadOS 18‌, and ‌macOS Sequoia‌ because Apple is rolling out features during the beta testing period. Apple Intelligence, which is also not coming in the European Union, is due out later this summer. Apple will probably time it to the public beta coming in July.

Apple says it needs to delay some features in the European Union because of the complexity of ensuring they comply with regulations mandated by the Digital Markets Act.
