“Scorching Steps Timed Research” quest steps in Pokémon Go

Scorching Steps is a measured research task that runs until Tuesday 25 June at 20:00 (local time) in Pokémon Go. If you don’t complete this quest before that deadline, then it and its rewards will disappear forever. Aside from this caveat, it works exactly like any other Pokémon Go task.

Scorching Steps Field Research Quests in Pokémon Go

By spinning a PokéStop during Scorching Steps, you can get an exclusive research task in Pokémon Go. These quests can then be saved to your field research collection and completed after the event if you so choose.

Here are the Scorching Steps field research tasks in Pokémon Go:

• Hatch the egg reward – Slugma encounter
• Hatch 2 eggs reward – meeting Litleo
• Hatch 3 eggs reward – meeting with Turtonator
• Explore 3 km reward – Slugma or Litleo encounter

Everything we know about Scorching Steps in Pokemon Go

Scorching Steps will run until Tuesday 25 June at 20:00 (local time) in Pokémon Go. During this time, you can enjoy three egg-themed bonuses and one shiny!

As for eggs, you’ll get a double-hatching candy, and the first three eggs placed in incubators using the Pokémon Go Egg widget will have 1/4 the hatch distance. After these first three eggs, the hatch distance of each egg you placed in the incubator during Scorching Steps will be halved. Perfect for getting over those 10km and 12km eggs!

If you want to use the Pokémon Go hatch widget, simply follow the steps to add the widget to your device’s phone screen. This usually involves holding your finger down on an empty spot, pressing the plus sign or widget options before finding Pokémon Go and placing it where you want it to sit.

Not to forget – the shiny bonus gives you a chance to encounter and/or hatch a shiny Slugma and a shiny Litle.

Scorching Steps have also seen the release of the shiny Larvesta! If you happen to have 400 Larvesta candies lying around, you can evolve them into a shiny Volcarona.

If you’re running out of Larvest sweets, Scorching Steps is here to help you out, as a Fire themed egg pool will be available every 2km, 5km and 10km you collect during it. Each group of eggs is a little different, so here are some of the pokemon that appear:

2 km of glowing eggs

• Growlithe
• Slugma

• Larvest

5 km of glowing stairs egg pool

• Hisuian Growlithe
• Darumaka
• Litwick
• Larbesta
• Litleo

10 km glowing stairs egg pool

• Larvest
• Turtonator
• Charcadet

With the reduced hatch distance bonuses, you’ll be able to work your way through a lot of eggs and hopefully add a Larvesta or two to your Pokemon collection.

Finally, of course, there will be PokéStop Showcases running throughout the Scorching Steps.
