Elon Musk has confirmed the birth of his 12th child, denying claims he tried to keep the baby’s arrival “secret”.
It is the 52-year-old’s third child with Neuralink CEO Shivon Zilis, with whom he also had twins in November 2021.
Musk, who co-founded SpaceX and Tesla along with Neuralink, welcomed his new baby earlier this year – but the public only learned of the arrival over the weekend.
The billionaire denied claims he was trying to keep the baby’s arrival under wraps, but claimed it would be “bizarre” to issue a press release.
Musk, who is known to be concerned about population decline, told PageSix on Sunday night: “As for ‘secretly sired,’ that’s also untrue.
“All our friends and family know. Not issuing a press release that is outlandish does not make it “secret”.
The baby’s name and gender have yet to be publicly revealed, but their arrival was first hinted at in a Bloomberg report published Friday titled “Elon Wants You to Have More Kids.”
The article discussed the South African-born Musk’s strong interest in population rates, with PageSix saying he also sent “a link to fertility rate statistics from the World Bank Group” along with a comment about many countries being “well below replacement” in terms of . babies being born.

It comes after the former couple’s eldest son, Nevada Alexander, tragically died at 10 weeks of sudden infant death syndrome, or SIDS, in 2002.
After he and Wilson divorced in 2008, Musk married and divorced (twice) British actress Talulah Riley, 38.
The couple first tied the knot in 2010 before divorcing in 2012, only to remarry in 2013 after reconciling.
They finally divorced in 2016 and she married Love Actually star Thomas Brodie-Sangster, 34, at the weekend.
Musk’s daughter Vivian applied for a legal name and gender change in 2022 aged 18 after being born ‘Xavier Alexander’.
