Logitech is lowering its profile with its G515 Lightspeed gaming keyboard

Logitech is upping its game today with the launch of the new G515 LIGHTSPEED TKL Wireless Gaming Keyboard. Part of the Logi G sub-brand, this new keyboard offers some high-performance features in a low-profile, more modern format than traditional mechanical gaming keyboards.

Low-profile keyboards have a sleeker design, although they still use the same mechanical switch technology as high-end gaming keyboards. A thinner profile means shorter hit detection distances, allowing players to play more comfortably without increasing the number of actions per minute.

The G515 takes up less desk space and offers a more comfortable typing experience, improving playability without compromising traditional features. The low-profile design provides faster keystrokes and allows gamers to react faster during intense games. At just 22mm tall, the G515 doesn’t need a wrist rest

The low-profile switches used in the G515 have an actuation distance of just 1.3mm and an overall distance of 3.2mm, which is shorter than traditional mechanical keyboard switches. Lightweight design and efficient construction allow for more efficient play and comfortable game actions.

The G515 has a layer of sound deadening foam and the switches and stabilizers are pre-lubricated from the factory for a smoother response. The high-quality PBT keys provide smooth typing and are durable in use, even when gaming is a bit intense.

In terms of advanced technology, the G515 keyboard features Logitech G’s recently announced KEYCONTROL technology. This allows gamers to customize the keyboard extensively. Each key can perform up to 15 different actions, so players can customize the keyboard and assign macros, sound cues and lighting effects to the keys.

KEYCONTROL also has the ability to add layers and modifiers like G SHIFT for greater customization options. The entire custom layout can be toggled at the touch of a button. G HUB community members can even exchange their own designs with other enthusiasts.

The G515 also features Logitech LIGHTSPEED Wireless Pairing technology, which allows gamers to connect their gaming mouse – such as the G502 X PLUS – via the G515 LIGHTSPEED dongle. This also frees up another USB port.

With LIGHTSYNC RGB lighting, gamers can customize their keyboard with a choice of 16.8 million colors and connect all their Logitech G gear with the G HUB. The keyboard has three connection modes: LIGHTSPEED wireless mode, Bluetooth and USB-C wired mode. A full charge of the G515’s built-in battery can provide up to 36 hours of continuous play before needing to be recharged.
