One of one Singer Vehicle Design ACS for sale

By 2021, it seemed like we’d seen everything there was to see when it came to Porsche 911 rebuilds. There were multi-million dollar builds, track superstars, high-end hot rods, and everything in between. With even the Targas getting Fuchs wheels and a nice suspension overhaul, there really didn’t seem to be much to do. But Singer Vehicle Design had other ideas.

The field competition study was revealed in January 2021, it’s just the kind of wonderful good news that has brought us out of our collective celebratory slumber. A collaboration between Singer and Tuthill Porsche – a true dream team of classic Porsche brilliance – the pair of cars were built in a single order. The two ACS cars were built with different terrains in mind to recall the glory days of racing 911s like the SC/RS (before Porsche made the 992 an official Dakar). Three and a half years ago, the Corsica Red car was introduced to the world, which was aimed at an asphalt rally, and then the Parallax White car. It was made with dune bashing and desert running in mind. Now it is also for sale – a real car.

The specification was as high-end as we’ve come to expect from all Singer and Tuthill builds. When it came to the ultimate 911 rally tribute, nothing was left to chance. Although still with the 964 at its base (is there a standard now?), the monocoque has been strengthened, with a dramatic new carbon fiber bodywork and a roll cage installed for competition cars. The dampers were five-way adjustable (!), with two units at each corner for ultimate race car handling; the transmission was sequential, there were plated LSDs on both axles and in the middle, and the handbrake was hydraulic. In fact, more than just a celebration of off-road 911s, the ACS has been certified for competition – complete with beverage system and GPS navigation.

It’s unclear if this one has endured much rough stuff since 2021; considering the condition it now found itself in, as well as its probable value, the life he led must have been a quieter one. Not that any of the rides on display were anything like that; as well as the racing gearbox, the Mezger turbocharged flat-six has been boosted to 450bhp, which will be a very powerful Porsche with so much carbon in the build and such a small interior. Check out those original press images too – in the right situation, it’ll be epic fun.

Just like the current Dakar, albeit with even more extreme options, there is room for all sorts of adventures with the ACS. It would be left purely for field use as created and certified; whether they’re actually competing or just for fun, it’s going to be mega. You’d have to hope it can be registered on the road too, as there are still lights, wipers and all. And although not right now, people have made the Zonda R road legal. If you want, you can. Maybe it could even be made into a more tarmac focused race day 911 like the red car. Of course Tuthill will know all about it. It could be anything but always extremely fun and unique.

Of course, this second state will count for a huge amount. 450 Classic Study Singers were made – 964 of which we all think of as Singer restomods – before things really got crazy. When one of these is for sale, it usually hovers around the million pound mark. ACS is more extreme, more advanced, and a whole lot rarer; remember only two were made for one person. We all like to say you won’t see another of this spec or that, but here is a true one-off build from two of the most respected names that make Porsche special. You will be a member of the royal family of Luftgekült, as Rennsport Reunion is called. That alone is definitely worth millions before you even think about the fun behind the wheel.
