EasyJet is canceling a number of flights to summer hot spots, throwing hundreds of British holidaymakers into chaos

EasyJet has canceled a number of flights at short notice, leaving families’ holiday plans in disarray.

Passengers arriving to check-in at Edinburgh and Glasgow airports were sent back home as flights were canceled and their travel plans thrown into disarray.

One traveler, Sarah Machete, said her wedding in Naples was thrown into chaos after the airline canceled her flights today and offered her a trip on Saturday.

She wrote: ‘So…I was just about to leave for the airport for our flight to Naples for our wedding and got a message from saying our flight was cancelled.

“easyJet’s response…. The only option is a flight on Saturday! Zero s*** given by their customer service.”

Another man on the same flight said two days of his holiday had been canceled due to a last-minute cancellation.

He wrote on X: ‘easyJet canceled our flight from Edinburgh to Naples and overbooked us, so we are losing almost two days of our holiday. Why aren’t we booked on another airline that will get us to Naples today.’

Guy Houston arrived at Glasgow Airport at 5am with his family to take a package to Tunisia, only to be told their flight would not take off just 65 minutes before departure time.

He told the Daily Record that the family had been told the flight had been canceled due to thunderstorms and that there were no easyJet staff to help.

Almost 400 miles to the south, a passenger named Kate complained she was stuck at Bristol Airport for seven hours, leaving her Turkish holiday “in the pan”.

She told MailOnline passengers were boarded and waited an hour on the tarmac before being told the flight had been cancelled.

“Apparently three flights to Dalaman have been canceled this week. There were rumors that it was a staff issue, but they must have known hours before. The flight was already delayed,” she said.

“The crew boarded at 4:00 p.m. and waited until 5:10 p.m. to cancel. The systems are broken.”

Sarah Machete said the cancellation threw her dream wedding in Naples into chaos when her flight from Scotland was cancelled, forcing her to spend the night at Luton Airport to get there.
Another passenger traveling from Bristol Airport told MailOnline she was stuck at the airport for seven hours before her flight was finally canceled and ended up going to Cornwall instead of Dalaman.

Instead of enjoying the sun in Dalaman, Kate is now going on holiday to Cornwall.

She added: “I am sure that all the Turkish liras we bought will gain value.

“It’s a scam. All you really want is fairness, clear communication and human interaction.”

EasyJet said it had done “everything possible” to minimize the impact of the disruption on passengers, which it said was caused by air traffic control restrictions.

“We regret that the impact of yesterday’s network-wide air traffic control restrictions caused by the adverse weather caused some aircraft to be out of position this morning and as a result some flights to and from Edinburgh and Glasgow were unable to operate,” the spokesman said. the airline said.

“We have done everything we can to minimize the impact on our customers and have provided those on canceled flights with rebooking or refund options, as well as hotel accommodation and meals where needed.

“The safety and well-being of customers and crew is easyJet’s highest priority and we would like to apologize to customers for any inconvenience caused by the weather.”
