Happy this week everyone! I won’t lie, it’s dry. Drier than a mess soaked in silica gel packs, dustier than Death’s Door. Very few eyebrow-raising new PC games are on the cards, but I wrapped my head in wet blankets, braved the desert, and returned with a small handful of dreams.
Monday July 1st is a day of unblemished darkness and eerie lo-fi linework, the care of the space station spook Vorago. Tuesday July 2nd is a time of lots of free-to-play schlooting, looking after The First Descendant – and lots of paid mmorping, looking after the Dawntrail expansion Final Fantasy 14. On Wednesday July 3rd… is… Connect-4, but inside the computer? On Thursday July 4th, there will be rrrrrrrrre isssssss… a game literally just called Multiplayer RPG? That’s like naming your dog “Dogs”. And on Friday, July 5th, a rather electrifying shmup called Void Reaper.
You might not get to play that last one, because there’s a good chance that Maw, our resident dark god of video game news, will be flourishing in rage and devouring the world by Thursday. Please: if you happen to spy any headline-worthy new PC games anywhere you might be hiding from the summer mayhem on Itch.io, drop them in the comments. Please. The Maw’s shadows grow brighter and sharper, lengthening like silence. Our generators are struggling and trying to fill the calm. It may be too late.
Glass first-person shooter Selaco has been updated with a major patch that adds new weapon upgrades, difficulty mutators, and the ability to pet vacuum cleaner robots. Among many other changes, you can also now kick people (hooray!), but only if you have your fists as a weapon (boo!).

The upcoming Crazy Taxi will include multiplayer, according to a site created to hire fresh developers for the SEGA game. The company also released a recruitment video in which the developers talked about working on the game, and series producer Kenji Kanno confirms that there will be a multiplayer component (thanks, Automaton).

Poor Edwin, huh? A well-deserved few days in, an upcoming crowdfunding campaign for a Soul Reaver graphic novel prequel is immediately announced. Guess I’ll steal his chance to rave about it in public then. Cheers, Ian Games!

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2’s public beta – due in a few months – has been canceled, with Focus Interactive saying they don’t want to take developer funding away from the full launch on September 9. However, if you sign up, you will get a free gun skin. Cheers, VG247!

Modders have discovered a hidden piece of the ending in The Witcher 3 thanks to the recently released REDkit. The cut part would have Yennefer betray the Lodge of Witches to Emperor Emhyr. Cheers, computer gamer!

HAPPY MAWNDAY
I’m on vacation until Wednesday, but there’s still time to do a little cleaning. Perhaps due to terrible malaise, this week’s liveblog deviated from the timeline and tangled with last week’s blog. Either that or Graham accidentally discovered Friday’s updates in the liveblog proposal I set up because I didn’t tell him I was setting up a liveblog proposal. I know the explanation I prefer.
