The online retailer has released the first images of the LEGO Technic 42184 Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut White Hypercar and you’ll never guess what it looks like…
Close your eyes and imagine the 42173 Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut Gray Hypercar in white. Now you’ve basically done the same thing as looking at the first images of the 42184 Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut White Hypercar released today by German retailer JB Spielwaren. This is a repainted version of the already revealed mid-range Jesk that was launched in August, following in the footsteps of previous LEGO Technic repaints such as last year’s yellow and blue Bugatti Bolides.
But where these cars have been hitting the shelves months apart, the 42184 Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut White Hypercar will apparently arrive on the same day as its gray counterpart, giving LEGO Technic petrolheads a choice of color options right from the start. That’s probably more consumer friendly than launching a different color a few months after everyone bought the original.
While JB hasn’t released the full listing for the 42184 Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut White Hypercar yet – these images come from Instagram instead – it’s not hard to imagine it (rumored) costing the same price as the 42173 Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut Gray Hypercar at £46.99 / 49 $.99 / €52.99. And since this is a direct repaint, it contains exactly the same number of pieces as the gray version (801).
Hopefully we’ll hear more concrete details about the 42184 Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut White Hypercar very soon, as retail previews usually come just before the official LEGO.com reveal (as happened yesterday with the 42174 Emirates Team New Zealand AC75 Racing Yacht). I like to think of myself as a journalist first, a LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. But journalism runs through my veins like some strange literary blood—one that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart condition. It’s like smoking, only worse. Hopefully I’ll get around to writing about LEGO by then.
