The First Descendant Dev offers a solution for frame rate drops: Uninstall and reinstall the game

First Descendant’s rough launch continues, with players reporting significant framerate drops on PC and consoles.

Nexon’s free-to-download looter shooter launched big this week with high concurrent players on Steam, but user reviews are “mixed” in response to what some are calling “microtransaction hell” as well as various performance issues and rewards. Check out IGN’s ongoing review of The First Descendant to see what we think of the game so far.

The main performance issue revolves around frame rate drops across all platforms, which can cause gameplay issues for an action game. Nexon recognized this and proposed a solution.

The developer attributes these frame rate issues to those who pre-downloaded The First Descendant and suggested that if you experience the issue, delete and reinstall the game “as a temporary solution.” Meanwhile, Nexon said it is investigating further.

Players are reporting mixed results using this workaround, some say it helps improve frame rates on PC, but those on console still seem to be struggling.

That’s not the only problem currently affecting The First Descendant. Nexon offered to compensate players for launch issues that caused promised rewards to fail to appear. Some players say they also didn’t get the premium currency they paid real money for.

For Nexon, here is a list of all current The First Descendant issues that the developer is working on:
