Announcing Bean Dive 2024

Bean Dive 15 – Time to start that unfinished business!!! to dive

I see all the unplayed games you have. Stop ignoring them and get them on your label where they belong. You’ve never liked your completion percentage being so high anyway, so join me in pulling it down a few pegs with the annual Bean Dive event. This year we’ve re-incorporated Bean Dive into the July TA Targets, with the gold medal up for grabs for starting just three new games… rookie numbers for each Bean Diver champion!

The new hub is here and you can start your dive from there.

Bean Dive 2024: Everything you need to know

When is Bean Dive 2024?
This year the Bean Dive will start on July 5th from 10:00 UTC. If you can’t start then, the promotion will continue until 23:59 UTC on July 14th. After this point, you can still initiate a dive, but it will not be included in the event statistics.

What is Bean Dive?
You’re welcome to find one achievement in as many of your unplayed games as you can so you can stop pretending it doesn’t exist. Please see the first thread about Bean Dive for some background.

What is the point?
The idea behind Bean Dive is to force you to play all those games you got on sale or just haven’t gotten around to playing. It also ruins your completion percentage. Hopefully you’ll take the challenge and return to your pre-dive glory before the next dive comes along. You may randomly get more than one achievement, but that’s okay.

How to get involved?

  • To start a dive, simply press the button Start My Dive on the event page once the event starts.
  • This will instantly start tracking your dive and capture your stats at that exact moment.
  • Once you start a dive, a “Dive Started” message will appear in your channel.
  • All achievements in new games acquired while diving will be grouped into a single expandable item in your resource.
  • On the right side of the home page you will see a new “Dive Summary” box that will give you various information related to the dive.
  • Friends feed items and the Summary field can be turned off if desired by editing your site settings.
  • All Dives will have its own Bean Dive page on the site, which includes a list of stat changes and a list of all Dived games.
  • After completing the dive, go to this page and click ‘Complete my dive’. Don’t press this button until all Dived games have been scanned or they won’t count!
  • A ‘Dive Completed’ message will appear on your channel, showing the number of Dive games and the completion percentage drop.
  • When you recover, you’ll earn milestones to tell how far you’ve come. If/when you return to your pre-dive completion percentage, you will receive another congratulatory message.
  • Make sure you’ve completed the dive before hitting finish, as all recorded stats will be reset if/when you decide to start another one.

What milestones will I get?
Your Bean Dive recovery milestones will depend on how many achievements you need to recover your dive. It works like this:

  • If you claim less than 100, you will receive one recovery message at 100% recovery.
  • If you request 100-249, you will receive two recovery messages: one at 50% recovery and one at 100% recovery.
  • If you claim 250 or more, you will receive four recovery messages: one for every 25% recovery.

I finished the dive and want to do another…
You ridiculous fool! But ok, you can start again by clicking on Start My Dive button again. To prevent people from spamming Dives, you will be limited to four per year.

When I started playing there was more than one achievement…does that still count?
Yes. While the idea is to pop as few achievements as possible and then move on to the next game, we know there are certain games where you can’t help but have more achievements pop up when you launch. Just try to keep it as low as possible for maximum effect. Unlocking five or more achievements will prevent the game from being included in your dive stats.

Is there a minimum number of games I need to make it an immersion?
No, not really, but to make it worth it, I’d say at least ten if you can. You can only dive games in which you have never achieved success before. Therefore, you cannot dive for DLC achievements if you have already unlocked achievements in the main game.

Where can I learn more and ask questions?
Check out the Bean Dive 2024 FAQ thread and the Bean Dive 2024 discussion thread.

Bean Dive brings you TA’s very own Beanpotter. Warning: The annual Bean Dive event is not for everyone, kind of like Marmite; it’s a horrible brown color, sticky and smells like yeast. Enjoy! to dive
