The manufactured chocolate bar that fans say is a ‘godsend’ is back on shelves

Over the years, many of our favorite snacks have been adopted too early—chips and cookies have been axed, and we’ve lost some of the best chocolate bars (RIP Mars Delight).

But one that really stung was the discontinuation of Milky Way Crispy Rolls, which Mars will stop making in the UK in April 2022.

It was a sad day for many who loved the childhood snack that featured a creamy filling inside a wafer covered in smooth chocolate.

Earlier this year, the sweet treat was spotted back on the shelves at Home Bargains as the retailer sold bars that looked like they had been imported from Greece.

At the time, a package containing two crispy rolls cost 79 each and fans went crazy for them.

If you missed it then, we have good news for you because the store is now selling multipacks that are at a bargain price. A six pack costs £1.99 but they were recently on offer for £99 as part of a Star Buy promotion.

He shared snippets of the packaging on Instagram @new.foodfindsuk and on Facebook in the Food Finds UK group, where more than 1,000 people shared their delight at seeing the chocolate back on shelves.

Many wanted to go and stock up on their favorite chocolate, with Victoria Coe writing: ‘Somebody go buy me five boxes please.’ As Louise Reid said, “I have to get there [Home Bargains] ASAP man. They are awesome.”

“I need about 20 boxes, we have to find them,” Jess Morris declared as Olivia Roberts joked she was going to “buy a shelf”. Others declared the snack a “godsend”, “yummy” and “so damn good”.

However, several shoppers were disappointed with their purchase and claimed that these bars did not taste the same as the original ones.

“It’s not the same as the previously discarded ones… they taste grim,” commented Annemarie Davies, while Harryson Hollins thought they weren’t “as good”.

This isn’t the only popular snack to be revived recently, as it comes after Cadbury recently re-launched the iconic chocolate bar from the 1990s.

First launched in 1993, Top Deck features classic milk chocolate on the bottom and a generous layer of ‘creamy’ white chocolate on top.

The bars disappeared from the shelves in the late 1990s, but have recently been available in South Africa, where they have become a fan favorite.

The iconic chocolate bar has been brought back as part of the brand’s ongoing 200th anniversary celebrations and features vintage packaging inspired by the original bar, providing a moment of nostalgia and a trip down memory lane for ’90s kids.

Shoppers can find them in Tesco and Booker supermarkets, as well as various other retailers across the country. A 110g bar costs £1.85, although shops can set their own prices.

It’s not yet known how long the Top Deck bars will be available in the UK, so if you’re a fan you’ll want to secure your goods quickly.
