Audio-Technica launches new headphones with chest-pounding bass

One complaint I often hear about wireless headphones is that they don’t have enough bass. Some people just love the thump of the bass strings and want the earth to move while listening to their favorite tunes.

Japanese brand Audio-Technica has taken note of this criticism and developed new true wireless headphones with extra flair. Launched today, the ATH-CKS30TW+ headphones are designed to deliver chest-pounding bass that belies their compact design. And just in case outside noise disturbs your bass line, all these headphones offer immersive active noise cancellation.

Audio-Technical says these new headphones are the culmination of a 15-year quest for super-deep bass. To plumb the mega-bass depths, the company added acoustic channels and custom 9mm drivers to control airflow. And when it comes to bass, it’s all about moving more air to get that powerful bass sound.

With precisely controlled low frequencies, detailed mids and what Audio-Technical describes as “sparkling highs”, these headphones make the ideal gift for anyone who loves music, movies and games with maximum impact.

Audio-Technica’s Connect app provides access to an ultra-low-frequency equalizer that extends the bass even further for body-moving beats. Four additional equalizer presets are also available, so users can enhance everything from voice clarity to dynamic playing. Presets are Bass Boost – Beat, Dynamic, Vocal and Clear. Presets can be set as favorites in the app and automatically applied to the headphones each time you listen.

Combining deep bass and active noise cancellation, the ATH-CKS30TW+ is ideal for fully engaging with sound by tuning out unwanted sounds from air conditioners to public transport noise.

Forward active noise cancellation, accessed by tapping the built-in touch sensor controls, is complemented by listen and talk features that allow for ambient sounds and natural face-to-face conversations without having to take off the headphones.

A full charge of the headphones’ batteries provides up to 6.5 hours of playback with noise cancellation on. A total of 17.5 hours of listening time is available with the reserve charge stored in the headphone case. If you want even longer battery life, turn off the noise cancellation and you’ll get up to 7.5 hours of playback from the headphones or 20 hours with the charging case.

The ATH-CKS30TW+ are available in four colors and have a snug and natural fit that prevents bass frequencies from escaping and also physically prevents unwanted external noise from passing through the headphones.

Thanks to the comfortable fit and low weight, the headphones are suitable for hiking and exercise. IP55 waterproof and dustproof means sweaty gym workouts shouldn’t be a problem. The out-of-range alert and product locator also mean users shouldn’t lose their headphones by forgetting or misplacing them.

Price and Availability: The Audio-Technica ATH-CKS30TW+ wireless headphones will be available from today for $99 / £89 / €99.
