Happy this week, everyone? After last week’s slight (and perhaps slightly edited) drought, there’s a non-zero amount of promising new PC games looming that cover a nice range of genres.
On Tuesday, July 9, we have Once Human, a free-to-play multiplayer open-world survival shooter set in a world polluted by sanity-eroding stardust. Wednesday July 10th is the early access launch of Time Treker (sic), aka Vampire Survivor, but with a mecha anime. Thursday July 11th unleashes the first-person stomping of Anger Foot and the horticultural excitement of Horticular adjacent to Viva Pinata. And on Friday, July 12, the SNES-style horror maze Super Dark Deception, the cyberpunk deckbuilding of Zero Division, and the mushroom-fingered scholarship of The Last Alchemist.
As always, you can follow the latest developments in the tumultuous realm of PC gaming via the liveblog below, and make wicked jokes about our puns in the attached comment thread. The live blog is also, as always, sponsored by Maw, the smelly and raging embodiment of the endless hunger for News whose million lamprey gullets we are trying to fill, or articles about dogs in Zenless Zone Zero, or. people are mad at Call of Duty. Please let us know if you come across anything that would make a decent maw feed.
I played a bit of Mushroom Musume and loved it. This is my mushroom daughter Alia.

Hooded Horse CEO Tim Bender railed at length against Hinterland CEO Raphael van Lierop, who characterized Hooded Horse’s Manor Lords city builder as “a pretty interesting case study of the pitfalls of Early Access development.” Van Lierop notes in his LinkedIn post that the game hasn’t been significantly updated since it topped the charts at launch. “Early Access is a marathon, and when you launch, you need to have the next big content expansion lined up,” he writes. Bender believes that “this is exactly the kind of warped never-ending growth/burden of expectation/prospect that needs to grow in the gaming industry.”
