A British woman has slammed a video criticizing a “normal Turkish breakfast” at a five-star resort in Antalya

Social media users attacked a woman and told her to “go to Benidorm” after she left negative comments about a “normal Turkish breakfast” at a holiday resort in Antalya.

A British TikToker who goes by the handle @sickofbeingskint1 used the app to share a video of a breakfast buffet at the Crystal Family Resort in Turkey, telling others not to bother.

‘I wouldn’t bother guys, the food isn’t up to par. It’s supposed to be a five-star resort, but the buffet restaurant has the same food every day,” she tells viewers at the beginning of the video, as the camera pans to a wide variety of breakfast options.

“They offer soup for breakfast, cheeses and hams.

“There’s scrambled eggs mixed with tomatoes, ground beef, peppers, really random things,” she described of the five-star resort’s breakfast buffet.

The TikToker couldn’t believe that the soup (pictured in the video) was being served at her five-star Turkish resort

The two-minute clip revealed a series of hot and cold food stations offering a selection of cheeses, meats, as well as several types of eggs, one with tomato and one with milk.

“It’s really not good, we’re not picky or picky people, but we’re foodies.

“When you spend almost £3,000 after a hard graft on holiday and you get it every day, it’s really depressing.

“We are not very happy at all. It’s just not good, really not good.’

A TikToker revealed a range of breakfast items kept in heat-resistant containers, apparently disappointed with the selection.

They saw tomatoes with melted cheese, “random sausages”, a tray of bulgur wheat, chicken sausages and eggs with chopped tomatoes.

“It’s just not what you’d expect from a breakfast, really not that great,” she said.

In another part of the video, the video shows two large pots of boiling soup, a traditional Turkish breakfast.

Looking into the pots of soup, the user closed the clip with the words “For breakfast guys? No!’

However, viewers of the video were quick to defend the breakfast buffet, criticizing the TikToker for criticizing traditional menu options.

One user, clearly outraged, wrote: ‘Better off to Benidorm’, while another suggested Butlins, writing: ‘Damn you should have gone to Skegness.’

A third commented: “Looks great, great selection and different to what you have at home – exactly what I’d expect when going on holiday

Another said: “It looks like banging! I love scrambled eggs and tomatoes. Maybe try McDonald’s if you’re that picky!”

Viewers of the video took to the comments and slammed the social media user for being picky. One even suggested that it would be better on holiday in Benidorm

Commenters were quick to correct the social media user, informing her that eating soup for breakfast is common in Turkey.

One wrote: ‘The soup is a normal Turkish breakfast. Likewise menemen (scrambled eggs with tomatoes).’

According to Aylin Tan, author of A Taste of Sun and Fire: Gaziantep Cookery, the soup became a popular breakfast for Turks who were poor because it is cheap and easy to make.

The dish is now commonly served for breakfast in Turkey, along with cheeses, doughy seasam simit bread, a variety of eggs, olive spreads and fruit jams, according to Food and Wine.

One example of a Turkish breakfast dish is beyran, a traditional soup that uses lamb; another popular choice is Ezogelin, a lentil soup still popular among Turkish farmers, according to Eater.

Another dish that a TikToker turned up her nose at turned out to be another Turkish breakfast classic.

A difficult dish of scrambled eggs and tomatoes is actually a popular morning staple called menemen – sometimes called a Turkish omelette.

The dish usually includes scrambled eggs with peppers and tomatoes and other spices.

The video has amassed more than half a million views since it was posted, along with 4,200 comments slamming social media users for being too picky about a “normal Turkish breakfast”.

In response, the creator made a video in which he wrote, “Wow wow!! Thanks for all the views on my previous video!! Crazy!!

“Mainly negative reactions, which I’m perfectly fine with! So many people assume I want chicken nuggets and fries.

‘The irony is that in the Mexican a la carte menu they served fries and chicken nuggets, we left! Like I said before, I’ve been to Turkey before and it was fantastic, not this!!!’

MailOnline has asked Crystal Family Resort for comment.

It comes after a report of a young British couple of picky eaters who spent £300 to bring an extra suitcase of snacks on their all-inclusive holiday to Egypt.

John Phillips, 40, took a shocking 21 kettle noodles, 86 bags of crisps, two packets of bacon, a packet of 30 sausages, tins of tuna, a block of cheese and brown sauce on his £1,400 trip last year.

And to satisfy the picky eater’s appetite, his wife Rebecca, 29, added an extra 30 Club Biscuit bars, 16 bags of sweets and breakfast bars.

Rebecca said the extra luggage “doesn’t bother her” as she said she wouldn’t have enjoyed the trip if her husband didn’t eat.

Mum started packing dry goods for John three years ago when he refused to eat anything but chips during their trips abroad.
