Richard E. Grant’s daughter married partner Florian Herbst in a civil ceremony, three years after the famous actor lost his wife to cancer.

Olivia Grant, a casting associate whose credits include last year’s record-breaking Barbie, exchanged vows with Herbst on Monday in a ceremony attended only by her father and the groom’s parents.

Confirming the news on X, formerly Twitter, Withnail & I star Grant, 67, revealed they had celebrated their nuptials with a seafood dinner at Mayfair restaurant Scott’s before spending the night at The Ritz.

He captioned the post: “Our beloved daughter @OliviaGranted married Florian Herbst yesterday in a civil ceremony with only his parents and me present. Wedding breakfast at Scott’s and a truly spectacular dinner and overnight stay in the suite. Treated Royally!!’

The celebration comes three years after Grant’s wife of 35 years and Olivia’s mother Joan Washington died after a battle with stage four breast cancer.

Grant previously revealed the ‘amazing mantra’ he has lived by since the death of his late wife.

The actor told how his wife gave him words to live by in the days leading up to her death, which have since helped him deal with the ‘chasm of grief’.

Speaking on The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show with Helena Bonham, Carter said: “She said to me four days before she died, she said to my daughter and me, ‘I know you’re going to be sad, but try to find a pocket of happiness in every day.’

“It’s been an amazing mantra to navigate through the abyss of grief these past 15 months and I’m grateful for that.”

Grant also said how he misses Joan more in the winter time around Christmas and their wedding anniversary in November.

Speaking in 2023, he told the Radio Times: “Our wedding anniversary is November 1; Joan’s birthday is December 21; it’s Christmas Day and then Olly’s [his nickname for his daughter Olivia] birthday is January 4th.

“Last year Olly and her partner Florian very generously invited me to Venice and then to visit his family in the south of Austria, which was absolutely magical.

“I’m going to the Caribbean with the two of them this year so I won’t be in London at Christmas.
