A popular steak and fish restaurant is to open in central Manchester. Cut & Craft, which has branches in Leeds and York, will open in historic Manchester in the coming months.
It will open at the Manchester & Salford Bank site on Mosley Street, just off Piccadilly Gardens. A listed building II. degree dates back to 1862 and was carefully restored to its former glory after significant investments.
Designed by Mancunian architect Edward Walters – renowned for his Italianate design style – the building remains one of the few palace-style buildings in the city. After housing the Royal Bank of Scotland from 2001 to 2020, property company Bruntwood took it over and renamed it Bond to celebrate the property’s roots and the city’s banking history.

Cut & Craft will take over a former banking room, a high-ceilinged apartment, and also transform former underground vaults into private dining and entertainment spaces. The space’s intricate features, including an intricate cornice on the double-height ceiling and elegant floor-to-ceiling windows, create a unique dining experience.
On the menu, the restaurant will feature local steaks and fish specialities, as well as freshly shucked oysters, Exmoor caviar and hand-cut beef tartar with egg yolk and sesame croutons.
Elsewhere on the menu you’ll find things like grilled anglerfish, mussels, as well as classics like fish & chips, grilled lamb chops and the signature 10oz flat iron steak, which is butchered in house.
Co-founder of The Cut & Craft Oscar Akgul said of the new Manchester site: “Manchester will soon have The Cut & Craft and in all honesty we just can’t wait.
“Our new location is located on Mosley Street inside an iconic Grade II listed building. Packed with history and original features including vaults, it will soon host private dining combined with a state-of-the-art ladies room, ‘gossip room’ and sommelier lounge.
“Our new restaurant will be full of elegant yet timeless style, giving you the ultimate in luxury at affordable prices.
Working closely with local authorities to return this rare building to its glory days. When it is finished, I believe we will be proud of Manchester, as well as all the people who worked on this amazing restoration project.
“Opening is months away and we can’t wait to welcome you all.
Prices at the Leeds branch of the restaurant include three fresh oysters for £10, beef tartare for £15 and king prawns available for £12. Its 10oz flat iron steak will come in at £16, while diners can expect to pay £37 for a 250g fillet or £48 for a 500g T-bone cut.
Mains such as truffle and parmesan chips, grilled asparagus and spinach, mac and cheese and creamy mashed potatoes start from £5.50. There are also signature dishes including pan-roasted sea bass (£24.50), dry-aged duck breast (£29.50) and the Craft Burger (£18.75) and sit alongside a £55 Sunday roast and individual beef tenderloins ( £26) – both inclusive. Manchester prices have not yet been confirmed.
Cut & Graft’s menu also includes brunch and dessert, while drinks included Crafted Tales cocktails unique to each of the restaurant’s locations. There will also be gin and classic cocktails, sparkling wines, champagne, spirits, a selection of craft, draft and bottled beers, plus mocktails, soft drinks and hot drinks.
The opening comes as a number of steakhouse and dining concepts launch or prepare to open their doors. Recently, new steakhouse Flat Iron attracted massive queues on Deansgate when it announced free Wagyu steaks for the first 500 people to mark its launch.
