Amazon has discounted every Kindle for Prime Day

PRIME DAY is in full swing, and Amazon has slashed prices on all of its Kindles — but there’s only one you should go with if you’re thinking about holiday reading this summer.

I’ve hand-picked the best Kindle deals from the Prime sale and paired them with their ultimate users.

I’ve tested and reviewed several different Kindles — and both are on sale for Amazon Prime Day

Amazon’s sale started yesterday and ends at 11.59pm tonight (Wednesday 17 July), so time is running out to grab those savings.

Some of the hottest deals in this 48-hour event are on Amazon’s smart devices, including savings on its Kindle e-reader family.

If you’ve been eyeing a Kindle, Prime Day is the perfect opportunity to get it for less, with options to suit any budget or preference.

Note, these offers are exclusive to Prime members. Not a member yet? You can still start a free 30-day trial and earn money.

But don’t panic; less than 12 hours left to shop until the sale ends.

I’ve spent a lot of time with Kindles, from budget offerings to top-of-the-line models, so I’m pretty familiar with these devices.

Travelers especially appreciate these e-readers for allowing them to take an entire library on the go without the weight and bulk of traditional books.

For me, there’s only one choice I reach for when packing for vacation: the basic Kindle (2022).

Read on to find out why and which Kindle is best for you.

Amazon Prime Day Kindle Deals

Kindle (2022), £64.99 (was £84.99): Best for holiday reading

The Kindle (2022) is the clear winner for holiday readers, and it’s also the cheapest

Kindle (2022), £64.99 (originally £84.99)

If you’re planning a summer getaway, let’s face it, the British summer was a total flop. The basic Kindle is the perfect travel companion.

It’s the most affordable variant in the Kindle family, and you get a sweet 24% off with the Prime sale.

I got up close and personal with this little gem in my Kindle (2022) review. Sure, it’s a cheap device, but that makes it perfect for travel.

Its super-light 6-inch frame slips easily into your bag without denting the weight of your luggage (unlike those heavy paperbacks), giving you access to your entire library throughout your trip.

Many shoppers struggle to choose between Fire and Kindle tablets, but my Fire vs. Kindle has made it clear: for a focused reading experience, Kindle is still the best.

Kindle Paperwhite, £149.99 (originally £179.99): Best for bedtime readers

If you like to read in bed, the Paperwhite’s features are exactly what you’ll wantCredit: Amazon

Kindle Paperwhite, £149.99 (originally £179.99)

The Paperwhite is a clear winner for those who like to read at night (myself included).

It strikes the perfect balance in the Kindle range and offers something extra for those who want more from their device. You can get it for just £149.99 until 11.59pm tonight.

What seals the deal for me is the Ambient Light feature. I’m a big fan of being able to adjust the display’s warmth, which makes it much easier on the eyes when reading in the dark.

I compared the Paperwhite to a standard Kindle and the Paperwhite excelled, especially with 10 weeks of battery life over the Kindle 6.

Kindle Scribe, £209.99 (was £329.99): Best for work and study

The largest Kindle in the lineup, the Scribe, is what students or professionals will want to opt for

Kindle Scribe, £209.99 (originally £329.99)

The last Kindle in the Prime lineup is the Kindle Scribe, the top model that I also had the chance to test.

When I reviewed the Kindle Scribe, I was impressed with the paper-like quality of the e-ink display and realistic note-taking capabilities.

It boasts the largest display of any Kindle at 10.2 inches, as well as the adjustable temperature feature found in the smaller Paperwhite.

At just under £330 normally, it’s the most expensive option in the line-up. I wouldn’t shell out that much for a Kindle Scribe, but at the current retail price of £209.99 it’s a lot more tempting.

There is definitely a market for it. Book enthusiasts on a budget who want extra features will find this a worthwhile investment.

It’s ideal for students or professionals looking for a versatile device for taking notes in class or on the go while enjoying books on a larger screen.

I also compared the Scribe with the Remarkable 2, its closest competitor, and Amazon’s offering comes out as better value for money.
